6 Ways To Celebrate Family Day In 2019

Family Day is just around the corner! Have you made plans yet?

On Monday, February 18th, BC families will enjoy the newly-shifted stat holiday (originally held on the second Monday of February). Family Day allows for families to spend some much-needed time together, and thankfully, the city has a collection of things to see and do to celebrate.

Here are just six ways that you can spend Family Day with your loved ones this year:

1) Free Family Day at MOV

On Family Day, visitors to the Museum of Vancouver (MOV) can enjoy complimentary admission! Take a walk on the wild side and visit the Wild Things exhibition, where you can experience the wonder of a close encounter of the wild kind. Explore the Haida Now exhibition and discover the wily ways of Wasgo the Sea Wolf and many other captivating Haida stories, including the Bear Mother. Learn about Vancouver’s past from 1900 to 1970 by visiting MOV’s History Galleries – an experience the entire family will enjoy!

2) Find Fun & Fins at the Vancouver Aquarium

Enjoy Family Day fun, fins and feathers at the Vancouver Aquarium from Saturday, February 16 to Monday, February 18. For the first time, the Vancouver Aquarium is offering complimentary admission for children 12 and under on Monday, February 18!

Get to know the aquatic family through special activities and programs throughout the weekend, including underwater-themed story time, the Meet a Parrot and Meet a Penguin programs, a screening of the exhilarating Shark: A 4-D Experience in the 4-D theatre, face painting and family photos with Ollie the Otter, and more!
