Family & Child Care

Our family programs and services have a focus on health and wellbeing. We believe all children in our community deserve to have a healthy start in life. We offer a safe and welcoming environment for all families and provide programs and services that support children in reaching their full potential.

Some programs are free of charge. Registration is required – please call 604-435-0323.

CHILD CARE (DAYCARE)

We encourage and support the potential of children through an environment that provides optimal social and emotional growth, as well as physical, creative and intellectual skills. Our wide range of age-appropriate activities and opportunities promote confidence and success.

COLLINGWOOD FAMILY PLACE

Four days a week5288 Joyce St.

This program is for parents and caregivers of children newborn – 6 years old to meet others while enjoying a cup of coffee and conversation. There are arts and crafts for children plus storytime, circle time, nutritious snacks, and many fun toys to play with. For more information, call 604-435-0323 ext. 241.

FAMILIES BRANCHING OUT (CAPC PROGRAM)

Mondays

This program is for parents, grandparents, and caregivers of families with children 0-6 years old. The focus is on the health, nutrition and well-being of young children, their families and their relationships with their community. Children and parents make new friends, learn positive ways to support each other and share resources. We recognize that parents and children have many talents to offer, so please join us and let us know what unique abilities you have to share.

Families Branching Out activities vary and include informal planning meetings, outings, workshops, guest speakers and traditional arts and craft activities. For more information, call Ana Mateescu at 604-435-0323 ext. 231.

INDIGENOUS YOUNG PARENTS’ FAMILY CIRCLES

Mondays

This sharing circle is facilitated in a way that supports and empowers parents to use traditional and holistic teachings with their families. Parents can feel safe sharing ideas and will learn positive parenting skills and connect more to the community and the resources available to them. NOBODY’S PERFECT PARENT EDUCATION AND SUPPORT GROUPS

This program is for parents who have children 0-5 years old. Parents can learn more about caring for children and effective parenting skills. Groups operate in different languages.
